Gay Travel Asia was founded by Mr. Neill Winter in 2011 after 3 years of travelling, living and working extensively throughout South East Asia.
Neill’s background is in Hospitality Management & tourism, graduating from Ryde College of Hospitality and Tourism (Australia) in late 1980. He immediately began to work for the prestigious Sheraton Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Double Island Private resort and other hotel brands within Australasia/Asia region. He has held positions from Sous Chef to General Manager.
Over the past 5 years, I have extensively researched information regarding Gay, lesbian, transgender in Asia. With such diversity of cultures and religion, seeking out information and data on those countries for the GLBT travelling public offered a big challenge. Through my own travelling experience and stories from fellow Gay Travellers about Gay and Lesbian life in Asia, we have begun to put together a broad range of information for GLBT travel with GAT.
Neill’s Travels throughout South East Asia have offered his many amazing experiences, which encouraged him to begin writing down his journeys. He wanted to share his travel stories, the knowledge and information accumulated with fellow GLBT travellers. His personal touch and insights will offer you genuine information on a very broad range of places, venues and travel tips which will ensure your vacation to be a safe and exciting experience.
